CBM has decided to give priority attention to environmental engineering. To this end, it has formed a joint venture with the French group Sita, one of the largest in the world, through its subsidiary in Brazil, Vega Engenharia Ambiental, which is also the largest in its field in the country.

In order to consolidate this strategic partnership, it decided to purchase all of the stockholdings of Viasolo Engenharia, a company which operates in the collection, transportation and ultimate disposal of the domestic waste from various municipalities in Minas Gerais. After this acquisition, the company became Viasolo Engenharia Ambiental, with 51% interest in the hands of Vega Engenharia Ambiental and 49% owned by Construtora Barbosa Mello.

Active in the markets of Minas Gerais, Goiás and Distrito Federal (Brasilia), conciliating the operational technology of Vega with the commercial experience and familiarity with local culture of CBM, Viasolo Engenharia Ambiental has risen to a leading position in the industry.
